Traditional Acupuncture

taoistTraditional Acupuncture is an ancient medical tradition dating back 3000 years. Over the centuries, the practice of acupuncture has developed and adapted to meet changing cultural and societal needs. In the 21st century, it is recognised as a highly relevant contemporary healthcare profession in its own right. It is regulated by professional bodies and approved by the World Health Organisation and the National Health Service for the treatment of a range of conditions.

You can chose Traditional Acupuncture in its own right as an effective therapeutic intervention, or to work safely alongside your conventional western medical treatment. Did you know that many health insurance companies include acupuncture in their policies? Please check yours, as you may be able to get reimbursement for your treatments.

The underlying principle of acupuncture is that illness and pain occur when the body’s Qi or vital energy cannot flow freely through a network of channels in the body. These channels can become obstructed for any number of reasons, such as emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection, or injury. By inserting ultra-fine, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, your practitioner seeks to re-establish the free flow of Qi to restore balance to the entire system, address specific symptoms and trigger the body’s natural healing response to restore health and improved wellbeing.

If you are nervous about having acupuncture, please view the short video of a typical treatment in my Warwick clinic. You will see what happens and more importantly, how tiny the needles are, which will remove any fears you may have had. Please also view or print my free seasonal news sheets on how to keep yourself healthy throughout the year.

I very much look forward to working with you to restore and maintain your health and improve your wellbeing, the natural way.
